Calling All Readers !!

The book fellowship group, "Faith-full Readers," will read books that will help us grow in Christian faith and practice and will include a variety of subjects.  The group will now meet on the Third Monday night of January, February, March, April and May at 7:00 PM in the church library.  We will take the summer off.  For more information contact This email address is being protected from spambots. It is not necessary to have gotten the whole book read in order to come be a part of the discussion.  Each session is independent of others, so folks are welcome on a "come and go" basis whenever they can make it. Light refreshments are served.

Faith-Full Readers Spring 2018 Books

February  19

Same Kind of Different As Me.  By Ron Hall

From one individual reader’s review on Amazon: I loved this book! Amazing in that both authors were so honest about their lives. Unbelievable that these things still happen in the U.S.A. I will never look at the homeless the same. This book deeply touched my heart and soul. Inspirational!!!

March 19

The Book of Forgiving: The Four Fold Path For Healing Ourselves and Our World     by Desmond Tutu

“There is no one who embodies the virtue of forgiveness like Desmond Tutu. With this book, he and his daughter take forgiveness out of the realm of mystery and offer a handbook on forgiveness, revealing this most exacting and freeing of human capacities in all its complexity and transformative achievability.” (Krista Tippett, Host/Executive Producer of On Being)

April 16

The Middle Step  by Denise Pattiz Bogard

The novel is set in North St. Louis and explores the intersection of race, poverty and family-- a topic more important and more timely than ever.

While it is a work of literary fiction, the novel draws on Denise Pattiz Bogard's personal passion and on her experiences of the past 15 years as a writing and English teacher in a Title One charter middle and high school in downtown St. Louis, Lift For Life Academy. (From Amazon author’s page)

May 21

Gift of the Red Bird: The Story of a Divine Encounter by Paula D’Arcy

When Paula D'Arcy lost her husband and baby in a car crash, she began an inner search for a faith that was stronger than fear. She tells her story of spiritual exhaustion, her journey alone into the wilderness for three days, and the renewal she was blessed to experience. (from Amazon) If you’ve ever felt like you needed a “sign” to give you assurance, this book is for you!

Men's Fellowship

meets on the 1st and 3rd Wed of the month at 6:30 am in Fellowship Hall Please contact Steve Hawkinson  for more information. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
