Upcoming Events In our Extended Community
 2018

October 14, Festival of Sharing - Immanuel United Church of Christ, 126 Church Street, Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 A.M.-2 P.M.  For over 30 years many people in Missouri have participated in the Festival of Sharing. This is an interfaith celebration and gathering of resources to combat hunger and poverty. Churches and groups have bought many different packs-food boxes, hygiene packs, reading and writing packs, women’s prison packs to be distributed to agencies around Missouri or to be distributed by Church World Services overseas.  SOSA partners with Festival of Sharing to provide 44,000 pounds of potatoes to be distributed. The Festival has taken place in Sedalia, Missouri and now there are also mini-festivals around the state.  There was a Sharefest in Ferguson last year.  It was a great success.  The group Pack Shack helped us package enough dehydrated casseroles to make 30,000 meals.  The St. Louis  Region Sharefest  will take place this year in Ferguson at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, 126 Church Street, Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 A.M.-2 P.M.  There will be kit drop off starting at 9:30, worship at 11:30, lunch at noon, and kit distribution at 1.  There will also be the Pack Shack with s repeat of packing dehydrated meals.
